new install of pe4 - doing it right the first time

Postby videovillageidiot » Thu Dec 31, 2009 2:05 pm

ok...now that i got my system restored/optimized/imaged, etc. i want to install my premiere elements 4 and photoshop elements 6. last year when i did it, i just took all defaults offered (whatever they were).

this time i'd like to do it the "muvipix way"!! any thoughts on what i should/shouldn't do in my install (of both products). Like are there extras that I can install that don't show up in the default approach?

and once it's running, any ideas besides keeping each project in its own folder?

thanks so much - i just can't wait to get back into using this stuff!!! even when my computer was working, i hadn't used premiere much lately. i feel like i'm starting all over again!

I always do the default install, there really isn't much you can change anyway.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Well, sticking with standard video formats (miniDV, HDV and AVCHD) and matching the project presets to them will certainly take you a long way toward success, Sherrin.

But it definitely sounds like you're well on your way to a successful editing experience!
