multiple editing in PE3?

Postby kr236rk » Mon Jun 08, 2009 4:37 am

Relocated from "Re: dv cam not recognised in xp?"

in reply to Ric wondering how to select, move from and monitor different timelines in a single edit project:-

Premiere Elements doesn't provide a way to toggle a track off and on. Tracks are always on. You can, however, use the "enable" command to turn specific clips off or on. The "enable" command is a toggle, on by default. There is no keyboard shortcut assigned to "enable", you get to it from the menu by default. But, you can edit the keyboard shortcuts and assign one. I'd recommend assigning a shortcut. "Enable" will work with either a single clip, or a group of clips selected with the lasso. Select the clips, then use the "enable" shortcut to turn them off and on as desired. Piece of cake.

thanks - have seen 'enable' on a drop down menu - where would i find the lasso please?

See the premiere elements help entry: to select clips in the timeline.

There's not really a lasso tool but people refer to selecting multiple clips as lassoing them. You click and drag on the timeline to select contiguous clips. You can select discontiguous clips with shift click on each clip you want to add, and you can add a contiguous group of clips to an existing selection with shift-drag.
