Does anyone else get a flare on fade in and out on titling?

Postby StuOS » Sat May 24, 2008 7:29 pm

I've got a consistent problem with flare on my titling. As a title fades in, it goes to (I presume) 100%, and then fades down a bit. When it fades out, it "flares" on the keyframe, before going to black. This has been useful in some instances, but hardly all.

I've tracked what's happening in the key frame animation window, and it appears that the keyframe registers 96.7% before going to 100% where it (believe it or not) fades a bit. The flare seems to happen on 96.7. I've gotten around this by setting the keyframe at 96.7% throughout, but that's a royal PITA.

Anyone else have this problem? Any solutions?

Yes I recall someone else posted something similar. Will have a search for the thread...

Thanks Wheat King. I found the thread. It took a while, since it talked about "pulse," a word I never thought of.

Basically, it appears that others discovered what I discovered: you have to use a workaround and set the maximum keyframe value to something less than 100%. What a PITA.

I wonder how this got past the programmers.

Yeah I had trouble finding it too. Gonna post a cross reference too it for future reference. Good digging!

Yeah Stu,

That first "pulse" thread was mine. I have been using the work-around of making a 98% preset and applying that to all my titles. At least that reduces the fix to one step.

Does anyone know if this is still happening in version 8?
I am particularly wondering if someone that had this problem in version 7 has upgraded to version 8 and could test it and see :)
