Specific to Premiere Elements Version 7.

Hi. I'm making a student/teacher video based on Pink's "Raise Your Glass", only I have teachers and students instead of some of the obscene material. I plan to have the cleaner shots of Pink looping, but about 3/4 of the way through the video, there is a morphing section. It puts people in fourths and gradually opens them, replacing with another. Is that possible to do with this?
Thanks, Kathy

There are a couple of inexpensive and even free morphing programs out there, Kathy. Most of the free apps work with photos -- but the morph creates an animated video clip that you can use in a video project! Here's a great discussion of Fantamorph, along with some great examples of its work. viewtopic.php?f=10&t=8987

The Pink video isn't morphed. The video is cropped and that would be very easy to do in PrEl with the Crop Effect. On the Pink video it looks like it is about 4 or 6 videos stacked and cropped. No keyframing, just cuts with some appearing at different intervals.

I don't know how to do that, but I'm ready to learn! I have four pictures stacked and lined up. I will work on it tonight. Could you give me a few more directions on the cropping? Thanks!

Apply the crop effect to each of the clips you want to crop.
Select the clip on the top track and click on the properties button. Click on the triangle next to "crop" in the properties panel to expose the crop controls and adjust the sliders to adjust the crop the way you want it.
One by one, click on the clip in the next track down and adjust the crop sliders as desired.
The starting time and duration of each clip is controlled by where you place the clip on each track and how you trim it.
Have fun!

After you apply the crop and adjust as Bob posted, you could then scale slightly and move the videos a little in the Motion properties to align the faces. To add more interest a tint of varying colors would be good, even tho that is not in the Pink video.

I don't know what I'm doing wrong, but I can't seem to crop. I can't find it under properties, and when I try to apply it in effects it resizes it without cropping it.
I'm much better with Photoshop Elements than Premiere!

The tutorial should help.
When you display the properties, make sure the clip with the crop effect applied is selected -- the clip will be highlighted. If it is not selected, you won't see the crop effect in properties.
After you click on the twirl down arrow next to the crop effect in properties, you'll see the sliders for the different sides. At the bottom of the sliders, there will be a check box labeled "Zoom". Make sure that box is unchecked. If it is checked, the image will be zoomed out to fill the frame and you will get the resizing effect that you described. I don't think Chuck mentioned that in the tutorial.

It totally helped. Thanks! I think I wasn't dragging the crop effect down because it wasn't appearing in the menu. I have to finish this thing this weekend. You are all very appreciated!

Glad to hear that the tutorial was helpful Kathy There's a lot to learn but it is all very much worth it. You won't believe the difference in your videos over the months and years as you learn new things Many of us are doing things we never thought possible a few years ago.

I hope y'all don't mind another question. When I'm using a green screen effect is it possible to put one movie behind the other? I'm sure it's got to be something obvious.
Thanks!

Use the timeline view instead of the sceneline view. You need to be in the timeline view to see the individual tracks and control the placement of the clips on them. If the greenscreen clip is on track 1, you can drag it to a higher track to make room for the other clip. Then, just place the other clip on the lower track underneath the greenscreen clip.
