Sharing to 1440x1080 or 1920x1080

Postby Svein Berger » Sat Oct 09, 2010 12:09 pm

I need to export a small project to MPEG files. I see that I have two options 1440x1080 and 1920x1080.

When I tried both options and viewed it with Windows Media Player I can not see any difference.
The file with 1920x1080 was even smaller than the 1440x1080 file. (Even though it was only 0.6mb)

Can someone clarify, please.

1440x1080i uses rectangular pixels while 1920x1080i uses square pixels. They both will display the same size in a 16:9 video frame. The 1920x1080i will potentially have a little higher horizontal resolution, but it will be difficult to see the difference. If I were exporting this for viewing on a computer, I'd choose the one with square pixels -- 1920x1080i.
