Panasonic HDC-TM700 camcorder?

Specific to Premiere Elements Version 7.

Panasonic HDC-TM700 camcorder?

Postby nascar » Sun Sep 19, 2010 8:06 am

All,

Considering purchasing this camcorder to make the leap to HD capability.

Does anyone know if the AVCHD compression format from Panasonic works well with PE 7?

I put together a year end video for my son's football team, so I plan on editing in HD but downsizing to SD to have the ability to burn DvDs.

Any thoughts or experience with this particular camcorder and interaction with PE7 would be welcomed.

Thanks.

That's just a standard AVCHD camcorder, nas, so it should work just fine with Premiere Elements 7.

AVCHD does tend to require a lot of system power though. At least a quad core processor with 4 gigs of RAM, although and i7 processor would be even better.

But, if you've got the power to work with it, your results should be terrific!

Steve,

Thanks.

In the reviews, I noticed that the camcorder had an available a compression format of 1080/60p but that no 3rd party editing programs were not compatible.

Do you know anything about this format?

Premiere Elements is optimized for AVCHD with 60i, nas.

So I can't guarantee your results with 60p.

Maybe someone who has a similar camcorder will respond with their experience.

Premiere Pro CS3 and above will handle the 1080 60p just fine, not sure about Premiere Elements but I would doubt it.
