BUYING A BLU-RAY BURNER

BUYING A BLU-RAY BURNER

Postby Cope This 719 » Tue Aug 24, 2010 5:37 am

I am contemplating buying a Blu-Ray burner so that I can save some videos that I have captured in Full High Def. At present I am using a Canon HF-S21 and PE 7. In Australia I can get a burner for about $AU 120 which is not bad out here. However I don't want to buy something that will make expensive "Drink Coasters"

Does anyone actually has a setup the same or similar to mine . I would appreciate any comments about burners and also blank media.

You must be sure your hardware can handle burning Blu-ray. Go to CyberLink. dot com for more information.

Regarding blank media, Verbatim is often recommeded on this site.

I have had an LG GGW-H20L BD burner for some time and have never had any problems with it. I use Verbatim BD discs but most times do a test burn to a Verbatim BD-RE so I can check the disc on my Panny BD player and TV before burning the final disc. Minimises coasters that way. :-D

The LG BD burner that I borrowed for awhile was great while I had it. No need for Blu-ray for some time now so I gave it back to its owner. He loves it :)
