Get Media from CD

Postby Arnie49 » Wed Dec 30, 2009 8:16 pm

I have a lot of music CD's. When I click Get Media from the CD nothing seems to happen. I want to use the music in my home movie.

Arnie, if they are true music CDs (not .mp3 files on a CD) then you have to rip them first. I don't think PRE will rip a CD.

But many other music programs will, including Windows Media Player or iTunes. Rip the tunes to mp3's and then you can import then into PRE with Get Media / Files.

Bobby's right. Use Windows Media Player or iTunes to rip the music from the CDs to your hard drive. You'll then be able to browse to them and add them to your Premiere Elements project.

This is a pretty nice tutorial

You can also rip the songs as WAV files, which Premiere Elements likes better than MP3s.
But either way you should be fine :)
