Flipping a video?

Postby Cinde » Sun Feb 22, 2009 5:17 pm

PRE 4 or 7
I know how to reverse speed (using time stretch) to make an object appear to rewind. For example... a boat crossing the water from right to left, then stopping and reversing to back up from left to right.

What I want to do is a little different. For example... The boat comes on the screen from the left, but I want it to come onto the screen from the right. I think this would be the equivalent to "filpping" a still photo in PSE. Can it be done with a video in PRE?

Richard posted this just the other day on the Adobe forum... In your Effects and Transitions pallette look under Video Effects. Click Distort and you will see mirror effect.

There are Flip effects under the Transform group (near bottom of list) of effects.

I had been searching for a solution on my own for over an hour. :angel12:
Then asked here and had an answer in only a few minutes. img0327

Cinde, There is a place where you can type in "FLIP" and only the effects with "FLIP" in their name will be displayed. On the effects panel near the top right is the text field with a little magnifying glass you can barely see where you type in your search.

Cinde the flip effect works great. Have used it on motion backgrounds.
