Specific to Premiere Elements Version 7.

Where is the project name?????

Postby Chuck Engels » Wed Feb 04, 2009 4:07 pm

In Version 7 I cannot find the project name anywhere. I'm sure someone knows how to find it....

Run your mouse over the "pre" icon in the upper left corner of the screen.

Was this a test to see if we are listening?

No, not a test. I know that this was mentioned before but it never bothered me until recently.
I have been working in version 7 a lot and this became very apparent, this is really annoying.

Yes, it's annoying that the project name is not on the caption bar.
When you have the mouse over the pre icon and there is an astrix (star) after the name, the project is not saved.

The project name can also be seen if you hover the mouse over the Premier button on the taskbar at the bottom of the monitor screen.

Good tip Svein to let us quickly see if the project has or has not been saved.

I believe it was Bob who pointed out that the auto save function doesn't kick in until the open production has been manually saved the first time. It is discussed in this post started by Theresa.

Under circumstances I have not yet been able to fully understand, moving the cursor over PRE does NOT reveal the project name. It usually works but sometimes just sometimes, nothing happens. I wish they could put it back permanently as it was in Version 3....

Try clicking somewhere on the title bar first. You need to make sure the "focus" is in the proper area of the window.

I thought I had but you might be right there. I'll report back next time it happens and clicking doesn't have the desired effect :-)
