Again, thanks for your help, RJ
I start over again tomorrow morning. At this point, PRE doesn't start anymore, repair doesn't fix and I'm tired...

Hi all,

Just to let you know that RJ's input has fixed the issue my side.

Below the different steps to solve this issue, consolidating the input from different RJ posts in this thread:
  • Backup your presets file "C:\documents and settings\YOUR-LOGIN-NAME\application data\adobe\premiere elements\7.0\Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset" (in case something goes wrong)
  • Download RJ's file here: http://muvipix.com/cpg/displayimage.php?pos=-2691 with presets organised in a folder
  • Adapt RJ's file for the french GUI, replacing the entry for 'My Presets' by the corresponding entry from your personal settings (the one you backed up)
  • Import the file in your 'My Presets'. This creates a new folder with RJ's effect. You can then rename the folder, and drag your own presets to this folder
  • Delete RJ's preset, to leave only yours

Once all this is done, to create a new folder, do the following:
  • Backup your presets file "C:\documents and settings\YOUR-LOGIN-NAME\application data\adobe\premiere elements\7.0\Effect Presets and Custom Items.prfpset" (in case something goes wrong)
  • Rename one of your existing folders to the new name you want
  • Export one of the presets in the renamed folders to a separate file
  • Restore the original folder name
  • Import the file you exported

Your new folder is then created, with one effect that you can delete. Make sure that you drag other effects to the new folder before deleting it.

Regards,
Alain
