Move CS5 Component to a Different PC

Postby dalelpaq » Thu Oct 28, 2010 8:54 am

Been having some difficulty reaching Adobe to get an answer to this question. I recently installed CS5 Production Premium on my desktop and all is well. Not knowing/thinking, the install included OnLocation. I want to move it to my laptop running XP Pro 32-bit. Is there a way to "deactivate" OnLocation on my desktop, install just it on the laptop, and re-actiate it? Possibly I'll need to make specific arrangements with Adobe - hope not. Thanks, Dale

Dale, I don't know the answer specifically, except that Adobe is usually quite "tight" about these things (meaning you DO need to do the right thing).

Did you read the user license for CS5 (don't have it myself). Often they permit a secondary installation on a notebook if you agree not to use simultaneously, etc. If so you should be able to install a second copy on the notebook with no problem.

You get two installations of everything, so you can install it all on one desktop and one laptop and activate on both.
That is in accordance with the EULA ;)
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
