Strange thing going on with m2t files in PrPro CS3. The project is set up the same as my previous HD projects. 1080i preset, the files are m2t 1440x1080 1.33 Placed the edited clips on the timeline and it played fine. The difference with this project vs previous projects is that I added a zoom and crop effects. The first clip drops out right after it zooms to 100% and picks back up in view a few frames later and flashes green and distorted.
I deleted the zoom & the crop and it still would not play correctly even though it played fine before adding the effects.
The previous HD projects only had transitions between the clips.
Since m2t files are temporal, and use interframe compression, should I convert these to a lossless codec first? If so, what is the best way?
Thanks.

Worked around the problems. Track 2 had video with the Crop Effect and Track 1 had an AE intro Qtime file. The video played on Track 2, but as soon as the Crop Effect was applied & still set at the default of 0, the video would not appear. Rendered and still no video. Deleted the Crop Effect and things played fine. To work around the issue, added the clip again on Track 3 and split the clip. Could not Copy & Paste the clip, but actually a new instance of the clip.
After editing just for a little time, could not render any transitions. Unknown Error. Closed the program and things were fine again for awhile & then the same error.
Applied MBQL and had an error: "MBQL failed to initialize, probably due to a graphic card......" Closed the program & MBQL worked.
The clips were captured using HDVsplit.

Is it too far along to start over with a new project Cheryl? When things start going down hill like that I always figure the program file got corrupted or something like that.

I exported it fine. It was a fun 2 minute project for my daughter. I did think about cutting my losses early and recapture, etc. Would have went this route if this was a longer project or non-family.

Here is the 2minute video. I have a bunch of video still on the tape and daughter has been waiting patiently. So gave her a quick 2 minute video. When I have more time to put a full length video together, thought about animating masks in AE instead of cropping & transitions like I did for this.

I like the way the dog keeps trying to get in on the video... especially at the end there.

That dog is the camera ham & the other dog was nudging my arm. Video isn't too good, had a spot on the filter and the subject on the move, backlight, & forget about the power of 3rds.
