I had to get a 60th anniversary video done by Dec 28. I had everything in PP CS4 and about ready to build and then everything went south... the day before.
Earlier I had had issues with mouths moving not in sync with sound and was suggested handbrake...I tried that but went back to iSkysoft media converter and applied the "fix" which was to specify the frame rate of 30fps. That solved all the video clips.
I had part 1 ( 20 mins of pictures and old videos) and part 2 ( 40 mins of testimonies sent to me from 30 peoples cell phones). I created about 15 sequences.
From the standpoint of organizing a problem PP is second to none. However, the program just kept hanging.....I would have to kill it and restart, back up x autosaves and try and recover. I did not have any trouble before adding the cell phone videos but didn't really have any issues with the exception of the mouths out of sync.
It had to be done by the next morning so I loaded CS4 on my laptop with Core I7 and 64GB mem, copied the project over and it also hung on that.... I was at wits end and then tried on Premiere Elements 10 and I could put the videos on the timeline but when I went to preview the videos I would hear sound but nothing moved in the preview screen.
I then loaded free HitFilm Express and attempted to build the 2nd half of the videos ..it took many hours but completed... I then took the output of these clips and fed into Adobe Encore and that crashed... I had to download DVDFlick (free) to build the dvd's. In the end after soooo many hours, I had a DVD with the videos but some parts had people's voices but just a green screen for the first part of them talking.
I'm looking for suggestions.... I don't really want to get into the subscription model with Adobe....is CS4 just not up to current videos ? My video output was 720p is that a problem.. is there more i can do when converting cell phone videos ? The video output created by HitFilms looked perfect...why would I have green screen instead of the video ?
Are there other programs that operate like PP that offer sequences and nesting ?
thanks
