Making avi for using in Camtasia

Postby Matthew Max » Fri Feb 14, 2014 11:25 am

I use Camtasia a lot as I go between it and Premiere Pro. I can easily drop avi from my older Sony HDR-HC9 into Camtasia, and I can drop the avi from Camtasia into Pro, but I cannot figure out how to convert other formats to a Camtasia-compatible avi using Adobe Media Encoder. Anybody know how to do this? I need to be able to use both Camtasia and Pro as complementary tools for my work. Do I need to export avi from Pro?

See this Knowledge base article regarding supported formats for import. It says Camstasia supports MP4 using H.254. I'd try that first. If that doesn't work, try quicktime using the animation codec.

Oh, my gosh, this changes my game, Bob. All of a sudden I can do everything I was hoping for. Easy as pie!
Muchas gracias, compa.
