Missing Content CS6 Encore

Postby momoffduty » Mon Nov 19, 2012 2:51 pm

CS6 Encore is missing content of Menus, buttons, etc. I found this thread on the Adobe Community Page 4:

http://forums.adobe.com/thread/1006810? ... 0&tstart=0

And this at Adobe:

http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/mult ... ssing.html

1. The first thread suggests using a download manager. Any suggestions? I have Smart FTP...would this work?

2. Will menus from CS3 work in CS6?

Looks like AE CS6 has missing content too.

I had to do a repair install of CS3 to get the menus and additional content to install.
For some reason it worked fine the first time on my laptop but not on my desktop.
I had terrible problems with Encore CS3 on my desktop because of this.
Now that the additional content is installed everything is working fine.

Worse case you can deactivate the software and completely uninstall and then install again.

The zip file is 734MB and there have been problems on downloading. It was suggested to use a download manager and I am lost on which to use.

I am keeping my old computer up and running for awhile so I can retrieve graphics from the CS3 Library and graphics from PSE 5.

Adobe has their own download manager, I recommend using that one if you are going to use one.
I do not recommend using a download manager at all however. You shouldn't need to use one.
The idea is that you can pause or restart the download if it is interrupted when you use a download manager.
I downloaded my files overnight and didn't have any connection or any other problems at all.

Thanks Chuck! I'll attempt it over night since it is a large file.

If you bought the discs, the extra content is included on one of the discs. It's a separate installation from the application.

Since you've been having problems downloading the file, it definitely wouldn't hurt to use a download manager. If the problem is a network interruption, you can resume the download from the point of interruption. If you are using Internet Explorer 9, it has a built-in download manager.

I bought the upgrade via a disc. Only one disc and installed all of the content. I haven't tried downloading it yet, will do it tonight. Seems there were others per the Adobe thread that was having problems.

I downloaded using IE and there were many, many interruptions. Had to check it often and hit the resume on the download manage. One file was 734Mb and the other 1.6 GB. :pull: That was for PrPro & Encore. Got it installed, but haven't had time to check it out thoroughly. On the Encore install I have now have 2 Library folders. One has menus only and this was from the first download. The second one appears to have all of the content and had to point Encore in preferences to that folder. Haven't really had time to inspect the installs.

Still have the AE additional content to download. :pull:

Since I bought the upgrade and paid the few bucks extra for discs, then why wasn't this included?

Hi
Has the Missing Content problem been resolved yet? I just purchased Pr6 in Retail Box (1 disc). Installed ok. I also managed to download the two files from http://helpx.adobe.com/x-productkb/mult ... ssing.html (info that I got from the Adobe Community forum) and had them installed - no problems. However, I have only managed to initialize the Menus content in Encore Library - buttons, images, backgrounds, etc are missing. I am still very new to this app (just started studying books and video tutorials) which cost me $1000, and at the moment I am in total confusion!!! In fact, I haven't reached the Titles topic yet so I don't even know if I have Titles templates.
Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I have solved the problem. Downloaded from http://helpx.adobe.com/encore/using/dow ... ntent.html, followed the instructions to the letter and content now as it should be.

Glad you got it installed Borgie. I think what was confusing is the one download had menus only and the 2nd download had the full library. But, I could be wrong.
