Re: Tv connection into my PCI got the rgb out, but I can't get the thing to plug in, will keep trying; just got it today. I don't suppose the yellow, white, red connectors will work, so I guess I have to figure out how to get this to work

Re: Tv connection into my PCHi Buddy, you need to add a TV Tuner device to your computer before you can watch/record TV on your computer. I posted a link earlier with some options, let me know if you have any specific questions. The connections on the back of a computer for video are all "Out", none of them are "In". They are meant to go out to an external monitor, not to have a signal come in. That is what the TV Tuner adapter/card does, it gives you an input for video. I used to have one with a DirecTv box connected to it and it worked great. But if all you really want is to record, not edit anything, then a Tivo might be just as good for your needs.

Re: Tv connection into my PCI understand the tuner card thing; got one cheaply, was old and doesn't work, so much for that. Good tuner cards are pretty expensive and for the moment I'll have to pass. That VGA connection shown in the pic says PC in. Do you think a VGA cable connection from that Tv port to the VGA in the computer might possibly work?

Re: Tv connection into my PCBuddy just to be clear you want to:
a. Connect the TV portion of the Emerson to the computer so you can play TV on to your computer? or b. You want to connect your Computer to you TV so you can use your Emerson as an extended computer monitor? I was not clear on which way you are trying to go Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. Re: Tv connection into my PCHe said in the first few posts
And that he wants to be able to record the programs on the computer. 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

Re: Tv connection into my PCThank you Chuck that is what I read too, but some of the advice sounded like it was to view the computer on the TV. I just wanted to confirm. Looks like the objective is to record TV to computer. Thank you for the clarity.
