Thanks Chris & Sidd for the feedback. I did request a sturdy case, forgot to list Carbide 100R ATX Mid-Tower Computer Case
I also requested a good to better power source and a firewire. I may in the future grab old footage from tapes or dust off the old camcorders.
The 2nd drive I requested at least 2T in space. I have 2 externals that I move old video to and one being a copy. I shoot more photos these days, but want to start working in 4k video. I take a lot of personal photos and also shoot a lot of photos for family & friends. So say a group of photos for one sitting after editing easily hits 50 GB. Every few months or more I go back and delete the raw, the psd files and keep only the jpgs which cleans up the amount of space. Having a large 2nd drive I am then not rushed to keep the numbers down. Plus when I am gone will anyone want my raw files. I confess, I am a video hoarder
I requested a silent fan. Maybe why the water cooling choice?
Thanks Chis for the pc parts price. My bid stands at around $2177 plus tax. My last build is 7 years old and was around $1900. I am thinking this will be my last build and if it lasts 7 years too then the price per year looks good.
I do plan on trying to install AE CS6 and Pr Pro CS6. I'll have to go PS CC which will give me Light Room. Looks like Light Room has more controls than ACR. Hopefully at least Pr Pro will install or I may have to go CC route with that. I don't think I will go AE CC because of the subscription price. I may get DaVinci Resolve at a later date/year. Basing the build on future options.
Chris B wrote:The SSD is an 860 PRO. I'm note sure of the economy of the pro models. For the same money you could get a 1TB 970 EVO which would move large file around more easily and is around 7 times faster. This may help with 4K editing.
I'll research this.
Thanks again for your feedback. Much appreciated!
