WMP 11

Postby hpharley90 » Mon Jul 08, 2013 1:54 pm

I have been using Windows Media player 11 for a while now with XP.
What happens and I don't know why is that sometimes my songs will double and sometimes triple up.
For instance. The Beatles I would have 25 songs. I'll open up WMP 11 click artist then click Beatles and I will have 50 songs.
I have an example from David Bowie.
What causes this and how can I prevent it from happening?

The screenshot is cropped on the right so I can't see the entire path, but it looks like you may have different paths for the duplicates. Check each path to see whether each path is valid and you have the same songs in each location. If one of the paths is invalid or the song is not duplicated, the database may be corrupted and will need to be rebuilt.

You might also be getting duplicates through an automate add when you play a song and the folder is part of a Windows Library. To prevent music files from being added automatically to your library: 1) In Windows Media Player, on the Tools menu, click Options. 2) On the Player tab, clear the Add music files to library when played check box.
