RJ, No software except WordPad and my brain :)

Gerry, I saw REO twice before anybody knew who they were, both High School dances.
I also got to see another small band called Styx at Crystal Lake High School just after Styx II came out.
Lots of great stuff came out Chicago :)

Clayton, you're right, it must be your age. Anyone close to 50 should probably know every one of those.

You mean Ed hasn't checked into this thread yet?

I'm eager to read this thoughts. He's great at finding stuff slightly off the beaten track.

What about Elvis?

I guess it is possible that you missed the 60's and 70's altogether :-k

The further away from 50 you get the less familiar these albums will be, further away in either direction ;)

Yeh, by that time I was busy raising a family and working shift work. I didn't have time to listen to anything other than sports on the radio. And oh yeh, I do remember ol' "Hound Dog" Elvis.

The Eagles had Joe Walsh with them for the 1978 Hotel California tour, I saw them at Milwaukee County Stadium.
The backup bands were Pablo Cruise and The Steve Miller Band.
I think the Steve Miller Band actually stole the show, they did 3 encores of Rock N Me, that was a great show!

Patrick Moraz Richard. You should check out his "The Story if i" album (from 1977?) some time, it's good. I only have it on cassette dubbed from a vinyl copy from back then.

The Beatles should have stopped at Revolver imo. Rubber Soul was their best: again imo.

I went to the grand opening of the superdome in New Orleans in 1975. It was 10 hours of Wet Willie, Charley Daniels, Marshall Tucker and the Allman Brothers.. It was one huge party...
Some favorites:

The Absolute Best of Carmen
Ray Boltz
ZZ Top
Eagles
Steve Miller
Bob Dylan
Beatles White Album

Steve - I would really have to give a top 50 a lot of thought. These would be in it though.

Bob Dylan - "Blood on the Tracks" (my all time number one!)
Beach Boys - "Pet Sounds"
Marshall Crenshaw - "Marshall Crenshaw" and "Field Day"
The Jellyfish - "Bellybutton"
The Wondermints - "Bali"
Elvis Costello - "My Aim is True"
Ry Cooder - "Paradise And Lunch"
Weather Report - "Heavy Weather"
George Benson - "The Other Side of Abbey Road"
Postal Service - "Postal Service"
