Hi.... I'm looking for suggestions for a 50th anniversary video/slideshow.
So far I've come up with the song from wedding singer "Grow Old With You" and "Your Still the One" by Orleans
but I could use many more good ideas : )

Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshowI used Todd Rundgren's Fade Away from the "Hermit of Mink Hollow" album to close out the video of my parent's 50th anniversery party. It's a beautiful song about eternel love and friendship. If you need it let me know.
Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshow50th anniversary puts them somewhere around 70 years old or so.
Married in the 50's so they are right in the neighborhood of my parents, they celebrated 50 years in June 2006. Music from the 40's to the 60's should be right, do they like, Pop, rock and roll, country, big band? Statler Brothers - Precious Memories Frank Sinatra - My Way Frank Sinatra - All The Way There are tons of great songs from that era, who are some of their favorites? 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshowUnchained Melody by The RIghteous Brothers
Sentimental Journey Memories by Barbra Striesand What a Wonderful World by Louis Armstrong Go out and make it a great day. The choice is yours!

Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshowNot to disuade anyone, but I have a different take.
I've created a movie on my 82 year-old father (still living, but fading into Alzheimers).. and one on a brother I lost many years ago who lived during the 50s & 60s. I spent hours and hours trying to find the appropriate music from their period. But when I played them alongside the video, none gave me the 'feel' I wanted. In both cases I found some really pleasant instrumentals (one from Muvipix) that didn't get in the way of the show and really had a pleasant feel to it .. (and to be fair I didn't want it competing with the narration I added along the way). Just another thought
Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshowI agree Jayell, there is a time and place in a video for popular music and a time and place for instrumentals.

Re: 50th anniversary video/slideshowThanks for all the great help !!!
My dad's favorite groups were Artie Shaw and The 4 Lads (definitelty not my kind of music).....thank goodness for ITunes I could listen to them... This must be before "rock and roll" was invented : )
