That's all helpful, Chuck. I'm still pretty new with my HV40 and am always at a loss as to where to start when I do something other than sunny, daytime shooting. And I just hate reading manuals, you know

I tried recording the moon last night with the above settings.
It worked pretty good although I might try making some adjustments.
Set to Shutter Priority mode and set to the TV option, then 2000.
2000 is supposed to be for shooting sports and fast action, don't know if that is the best setting for this.
Did set the exposure to about -8 and it seemed to be better than -6.

I want to test out a lot more of the manual settings like the Aperture Priority Mode.

Anyway, it's fun to finally start playing around with the different settings and seeing good results.
This camera can do a lot and has a lot of options, but it doesn't matter if I don't know how to use them.
