.... After losing two years of video with a disc-based camcorder due to a bad hard disc and a failed backup (!), I'm back to tape and much relieved. Tape provides an automatic backup, and this camera provides excellent footage.

Tape versus HD: A Quote from the B&H Web SiteI was checking the current price of the HV30 on the B&H web site, and I came across the following review by HenryAmmons in Colorado:
HP h8-1360t Win7 Home Premium 64-bit/Intel i7-3770@3.40GHz/8GB RAM/NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050/LG BH10LS30 Blu-ray RW+SD DVD/CD RW+LightScribe/52" Samsung LCD HDTV (ancient 1080p)/PRE & PSE & ORGANIZER 2018/CS 5.1 & 5.5 (rare use)
Re: Tape versus HD: A Quote from the B&H Web SiteMaybe if the reviewer came to muvipix.com first, they would have know that a tape based camcorder is the best. Steve and Chuck have been recomending tape based camcorders from the beginning.
Re: Tape versus HD: A Quote from the B&H Web Site
Exactly! If I had not found this board--more precisely, if Chuck and Steve had not found me on the Adobe forums--my creations would still be limited to slide shows from stills, and my sole use for PRE would be to burn DVDs of them. Re: Tape versus HD: A Quote from the B&H Web SiteI have heard rumblings that when the weather is right Chuck & Steve could walk on water. As amazed as I was, Steve just shrugged it off and said something about the cold Milwaukee morning making the water turn to ice, but I do not think that is relevant.
The whole Muvipix forum continues to be outstanding. Sidd "Life moves pretty fast. If you don't stop and look around once in a while, you could miss it." ..... Ferris Bueller
Re: Tape versus HD: A Quote from the B&H Web SiteYou're right, Sidd. I walked on a lot of water this week! Fell on my butt a couple of times too.

I know what you mean. I have 2 small dogs and I walk them no matter what the weather is. Here in NJ, we had some snow, but not much by your standards Steve. I think the most we got in my area was no more than 6 inches. However, most people do not shovel their sidewalks. Some people did. For sidewalks where people did shovel, there was a thin coat of ice left, which was not always easy to see. I fell on my butt several times this season . I prefer non-shoveled sidewalks. I't a good thing I have plenty of meat back there. Anyhow it looks like this biggest storm of the season may be on its way. We may get up to 9 inches of snow starting tomorrow night. The kids are hoping for a day off from school.
