Aiptek GO-HD file format

Postby Bob D » Mon Dec 31, 2007 1:04 pm

Hello all,

My wife got a Aiptek GO-HD camera for Christmas. It got decent reviews and I thought it would be good for her to have her own camera while we are on vacations and kids events ;) .

So far, I'm not totally over impressed, but I'm now to the point where I want to see if I can edit the stuff in PE$. The file format captured in this camera is MOV files. I took about 6 clips, for a total of 3 minutes to the timeline. I tried to render so the red bar would turn green, but it would take along time. So now I am just trying to create an avi file and it is going to take 50 minutes for a 3 minute file. Does anyone know of a good converter (free) that I can use outside of PE to convert MOV to AVI?

Chuck,

It is HD. I followed the thread you provided and I am trying the "any video converter" software now, but it seems to be getting hung up. PE4 just created an avi for me and it looks pretty good.

I edited some AipTek HD-GO footage. Use SUPER to re-encode the 1280x720 H.264 .mov files as 1280x720 H.264 .mov and then you can import it into PE. Basically just doing a Save As.... PE sometimes does not like the raw file. You can probably also use it to convert to another format. Are you keeping it as high definition?
