Gray bar across playback screen

Postby ridon127 » Sat May 26, 2012 4:44 pm

What is causing pink and gray bars across my playback screen.. i have a canon alura 100..this hasn't been one of my best purchases..it makes a noise sometimes like the mechanisms are just spinning. i have googled it and i know i am probably going to have to have it repaired. just hoping some one here has a better solution..
thanks

Can you post a picture of what you're seeing, Donna? That is, if it appears in your photos and videos.

If it only appears on your LCD screen, it could be a defective LCD. In my experience, Canon has been very good at repairing and replacing defective hardware.

Well Steve,

I started downloading the video and the longer it ran the better it got. so i disconnected it from PRE and rewound the tape.. it was fine. i have played several different tapes trying to figure out if it was the tape or the camcorder.. all of them had the pink and gray bars but now it seems fine. i knew if i posted here it would get fixed>>>    If it keeps doing it i will post a clip then..
thanks
