capture sp mini DV.

Postby hpharley90 » Sun Jan 21, 2024 3:04 pm

Hi all. So I have some SP mini DV tapes that I would like to capture.
My only capture software that I have is HDV split and it wont capture standard play mini DV.
Anyone have a suggestion.
I'm apprehensive of just trying anything and feel more comfortable with a recommendation.

I did a search and WinDV came up and I remembered it vaguely.
It's capturing right now.

Anyone else still using MiniDV?
Thanks
Richard

I'm not still using it but I have many old miniDV tapes and I sometimes want to capture from them.

Do you have an IEEE-1394 FireWire connection on your computer? If so, WinDV will work. It's no longer being developed, but older versions are still available. (Make sure you click on the download link for WinDV 1.2.3 and not the big "Download" buttons, which are really ads.)

If you only have a USB connection, it takes a whole different strategy.
