Trying to use Soundbooth CS4 to record the stereo mix off my sound card. My problem seems to be that Soundbooth is playing back the recorded signal. So as a result, I get caught up in a reverberating sound loop. Any idea where I can turn off the sound from Soundbooth?
Thanks, -Vernon

Vernon, sorry, can't help with Soundbooth but if the need is pressing and the output needed quickly, try Audacity.

John, Thanks. I have Audacity. What I was trying to do was learn the basics of Soundbooth. So the first thing I tried was to do the same type of things I do in Audacity. Wouldn't you know, the first thing I hit has me dead in the water. I would hope that some Adobe User will stroll by soon. Otherwise, I may have to look for my answer on another forum . -Vernon

I have SoundBooth but never use it for recording, I always use Audacity. The only thing that I use Soundbooth for is some editing and music creation. It would be nice if there was more time so I could learn more about it, seems to be a great program.

I don't have soundbooth yet, but I took a look at the online help. It appears that you can turn off the play back during recording -- the option is apparently in the recording setup dialog. See this: http://help.adobe.com/en_US/Soundbooth/2.0/WS8B549BAE-BBD6-457b-9949-A1206300823Ea.html -- especially note step 5. Don't enable the "Monitor Input During Recording" option.

Bob, That was spot on. I had unchecked it previously, but I had other setting problems. I did not notice that it had reset. Thanks a bunch for the direction. I knew what I wanted, but did not remember where to look. Regards, -Vernon
