Discussions on third party software for the final creation of DVD including Nero, Roxio, DVD Architect, Magix, Ulead, etc...

This is a topic that comes up on occasion. Some of the professional authoring applications have minor digital rights management or copy protection but nothing that will stop anyone if they really want to copy it. Even the big movie producers have trouble keeping people from making copies. If you search online you will find many DVD Rippers available, and most of them work.

Here is an example of free 'remove protection from a DVD' software. http://www.dvd43.com/As Chuck says, it is nigh on impossible to copy protect a DVD. The process may deter some computer users but anyone with slight PC knowledge will overcome the protection. Now with commercially produced BluRay DVDs that is a whole different issue....

Ahhh! I stand corrected. I had heard that the BluRay encoding had been cracked very shortly after BluRay discs began to appear. I wasn't aware that it had reached the 'commercial' stage, if you see what I mean.

Just trying to be helpful and also out of curiosity I was going to try the Slysoft product to copy a legitimate BD disc so that I could post a 'tried and tested' style review comment here. But it seems that I had previously downloaded Slysoft on a trial basis for DVD copying (I use 1Click DVD Copy Pro - which doesn't support BD copying) so it wouldn't let me run it again as my trial period had expired.

I use the standard Sly Fox AnyDVD for playing standard DVDs on my home theatre PC to my TV through a video card... I need as Microsoft wont let you play an encrypted DVD through a video card connected to a TV. I would try the HD version John but dont have a Bluray player...
