Fake Camera in PrEl

In Photoshop Elements create blank psd files using the preset of your project. In this example I used NTSC DV 720x480.

The first example’s background was the Handmade Paper in the Artworks & Effects palette. It is best to use a background that will match up top &bottom and side to side.

Place photo on the background and save. Make a separate psd file for each photo. Name the files in sequential order.

In Premiere Elements place the psds on the timeline. Apply the Push Transition to each. Click on the transition in the timeline and in the Transition’s Property panel, change the duration to 3 seconds and adjust the direction of the transition.

The second example, the paw prints:

In Photoshop Elements arrange the psds in the workspace and apply the paw prints to flow from one psd to another. It is helpful if the psds are numbered in the order they will appear in the video. Plan ahead how they will flow in Premiere Elements, left to right or top to bottom, etc.

(Note: I thought about a ribbon flowing from slide to slide, but that would require a lot of time matching up in Photoshop Elements.)

The third example, the video section:

In Photoshop Elements add a color layer to the psd file. Mine was a dark blue. Click on the color layer in the layer’s palette and Edit>Fill Layer. In the pop up dialog box under Use drop down choose Pattern. In the Custom Pattern drop down choose a pattern. I used Washed Watercolor. In the Mode drop down the Screen was used and the Opacity was 50%.

In Premiere Elements bring in the textured psd. Place the psd on Track 1. Place the video on Track 2. Scale the video down. The video needs to have handles at each end for the transition.

Repeat above with the next psd & video. Apply the Push transition to the two psds on Track 1 and the Push transition to the two videos on Track 2. Set the direction the same for each and the length the same. The example was 3 seconds.

Repeat above for the next video clip.

NOTE: Photoshop Elements is not my forte and their are many ways to accomplish the same thing. Suggestions welcome. This example project was made in PrEl3.

I'm on 3.6.8 and I can't view it either. What version are you using, Cheryl?

I got it working by going to the control panel and uninstalling VideoLan's VLC Media Player, then installing it again without selecting the Mozilla plug-in.

Before doing that, I tried disabling the VLC plug-in in Firefox, but that didn't have any effect.

I also use the VLC media player. You lost me at the end, RJ. You reinstalled it (VLC?) without selecting WHAT Mozilla plug-in?
