I came across an article on Microsoft.com that explains how to force idle tasks to start and complete so benchmarking test won't be ruined by idle tasks starting up unexpectedly. This seemed like it might be useful to do just before you export to dvd. It may help prevent your system from locking up and ruining a burn. You can see the tasks that get run by opening up the Task Manager and watching the CPU column for activity. It may take 10 minutes for the idle tasks to complete.

In particular is this line that you type in at the command prompt to start idle tasks:
Rundll32.exe advapi32.dll,ProcessIdleTasks
"ProcessIdleTasks" is case sensitive, so the P, I, and T are capitalized.
