Un-Numbered Marker with * Key

Using PE7, I just used the * key on the number pad to set markers to the beat of a soundtrack. Every time I hit the * key it stopped the CTI and would not set a marker on-the-fly. I don't remember having this issue the last time I tried this technique in PE7. Suggestions?

Hi Peter, not sure what the problem could be. I've never seen this stop working like that.
Those are the really strange problems, the ones where something just stops working all of a sudden.

Maybe someone else has run into this in the past and has an answer.

Are you using the asterisk key on the numeric keypad (group of keys on the right) or shift-8? I believe it only works with the former.

Does a make a difference whether or not you have Num Lock enabled?

Number Lock doesn't make a difference. I will try a hard reset and see what that does.
