Page Turn - Part 8Just want you to know, Chuck how anxious I am to see Page Turn part 8. I took the first 7 parts this afternoon .. and actually understand how to do it for the first time. I've tried before, but always ended up tied in knots. Thanks for all the time you've taken to put these together!!
Re: Page Turn - Part 8That is really great to hear Jayell, I never know how useful the tutorials are for sure.
This is one of the most difficult tutorials I have put together, the page turn is not an easy task to begin with. I am hoping to finish in part 8 but might need to add one more. Should have the remainder finished by Christmas 1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Page Turn - Part 8I'd like to make one comment that might help someone else. I think I'm understanding this correctly.
And this only matters IF your Album cover has a specific pattern on it, as mine does. As you're opening the front album cover .. when you turn from the outside to the inside of the cover. The basic 3D 'swivel' should go from 90 to 180 .. (not -90 to 0, as the tutorial suggests). Otherwise the front and back of the Album cover don't match
Re: Page Turn - Part 8The front and back of the album cover are two separate images aren't they?
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.
2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.
Re: Page Turn - Part 8Yes, but in your demonstration (and probably typical), they're made from a single original .. so (probably) put into the project facing the same direction. I think I'm starting to confuse myself.
Re: Page Turn - Part 8I think that part of the confusion is because my album has a square cover and matching square inside cover, but the album edge is a separate graphic. If the edge and cover were all one piece then it would be different as you are saying.

Re: Page Turn - Part 8No, it has nothing to do with the album edge. This isn't a big enough deal to talk it to death, Chuck (it's actually a very quick fix) but I need the practice uploading and embedding files into threads.
ASSUMING one has an album cover that has a pattern or some other distinquishing marks on it (notice mine does) .. and has used the same graphic to create the front back side of the Album Cover (as your tutorial suggests) .. AND is concerned with having their album cover anatomically correct as it opens (I am), here's the deal. Using MY suggestions of a 3D Basic swivel of 90-180, it would look like this (watch carefully where the colored stripes end up) Using YOUR directions of -90 to 0 swivel (so that the front and back don't match up) .. even though probably no one would notice.
Re: Page Turn - Part 8Ahhh, thanks for the samples they are great
You are absolutely correct Jayell. I didn't even realize that it would be a problem. As long as you use a solid color or you don't have a real pattern then it won't even be noticeable. But as you show in your example, if there is a pattern it may be pretty obvious. Still, if you hadn't pointed it out I probably wouldn't have noticed. But I'm sure that other people, that pay more attention to detail than I do, would see it right away. I may have to make mention of this in the next tutorial segment, thanks for bringing it to my attention. 1. Re: Page Turn - Part 8Glad it helped!
Re: Page Turn - Part 8Never noticed that before, thanks jayell. Smooth book open too.

I had a good teacher
Re: Page TurnDear Chuck,
I'm new to Muvipix and has been studying your series on page turn. In the beginning segment you said there would be files provided so that we could work along with you. I've downloaded segment one (all of them actually) and I don't see extra files/templates. Where do I find them? And when I searched Google there are lots of templates but you failed to say they were not free. I was surprised! I'd appreciate your direction. Thanks, Mary Anne
Re: Page Turn - Part 8Hi, Mary Anne. Welcome to Muvipix.com!
Don't worry. Those files are free and available on our site. I'm sure Chuck will be on soon to help direct us to them. HP Envy with 2.9/4.4 ghz i7-10700 and 16 gig of RAM running Windows 11 Pro
Re: Page Turn - Part 8Hi Mary Anne,
We had a zip file that included all of the graphics but I'm not sure where it is anymore. I have uploaded it to my gallery and you can download it there, should be all the files you need. http://muvipix.com/cpg/albums/userpics/ ... cs%7E0.zip If you have any questions at all just let us know 1.
