Park Avenue font, free

Postby 357 » Thu Sep 01, 2011 7:03 am

I would like to have the Park Avenue font to use in

PE7. I have an earlier version of Photoshop on my back-up computer (32bit). Can I find and copy and paste the font file into PE7? Anyone know of free fonts that will work with PE7?

It should work. I don't know if Windows distinguishes between a 32-bit and a 64-bit font.

But you should copy it from and paste it into the C:/Windows/Fonts directory. Not Photoshop Elements. Once it's installed in Windows, all of your programs should be able to use it.

All of my fonts work for me in both 32 and 64 bit.

Fonts are independent of your OS bitness. The font file will install on either 32-bit or 64-bit systems.

With Windows Vista and Windows 7, you don't have to manually copy the file to the C:\Windows\Fonts\ folder. If necesssary, extract the font file from whatever archive file the font came in -- it doesn't matter where you extract it. Right click on the font file in Windows Explorer. There will be an "install" item in the popup context menu. Click on that and Windows will automatically copy the font to the Windows font folder and set up the proper entries in the Windows registry. Installing the font this way will make it available to all applications on the computer. If you want to see what the font looks like before you install it, click on the "preview" context menu item instead.

I thought I had the Park Avenue font in PE5 and do not. I looked in PE3. Not there either. I do know for sure that I used to have it because I used it all the time about 6-7 years ago. What version had Park Avenue? Anyone willing to copy and send me that font at billtateATbellsouthDOTnet? Thanks

If you don't have any luck getting this from anyone, just Google "Park Avenue font" - I see it's available on at least several of the free fonts sites. Just be careful that you don't use any downloaders that require that you run an exe file, and note to not install any toolbars, etc.

That is the problem Dave! All that offer free have "tracking cookies". Wish I knew which version I used to use that had the Park ave.. I would still have it I'm sure. I did install some fonts into 7 from 5 and some are almost as good as Park Ave. Thanks Guys!

Ah, good. I was moments from mailing it to you. I found it at:

Might want to bookmark the link for future use.
