PSE9>Edit>Guided Edit>Fun Edits>Perfect Portrait

Postby George Tyndall » Wed Dec 01, 2010 1:11 am

I've been spending some time exploring the features of PSE9, and I want to share with the members some of the more interesting discoveries.

The Guided Edit tab of the PSE9 Editor has some very interesting techniques to teach, one of which is located under the heading Fun Edits and is called Perfect Portrait. This module contains tools to smooth the skin, remove blemishes and red eye, dodge and burn, whiten teeth and -- whoa! -- a tool to slim the model's face.

Also included in the Guided Edit module is the new Spot Healing tool with its fabulous Content-Aware capability.

A very attractive feature of the Guided Edit tab or module is that, as its name states, both the rationale for the tools and very specific instructions for how to use them are provided.

Personally, although I plan to continue to use the PRE/PSE7 bundle to create most of my slide shows, I find that PSE9 has a number of new features that I will likely use to edit some of the stills that I will use in those shows.

If I discover other useful features that do not exist in PSE7, I will share those, too.

After viewing that video, I must say that I continue to be amazed by the power that Adobe is willing to give to us photographers for such a reasonable price.

Truly amazing.
