How to stop launch of Photo Downloader?

Postby Briantho » Thu Dec 18, 2008 5:47 am

I've just started using a Vista machine and when I connect my iPaq Pocket PC a dialog opens (on the Vista machine) for "Adobe Photoshop Elements 6.0 - Photo Downloader" and for the next minute or so it displays a message "Connecting to device... Please wait."

As far as I'm concerned it is a complete time waster. If I want to transfer any media between devices then I use Explorer selectively having hit various bugs in these 'automatic' programs in the past.

I've looked in all sorts of places to turn this off but no luck so far. Can somebody please tell me how to stop this "Photo Downloader" from trying to take over..? Thanks in advance.

In Premiere Elements Organizer, try going to Edit/Preferences/Camera or Card Reader and changing the settings for the Begin Download drop-down menu.

That might not be it exactly, but I think it's somewhere in that dialog box.

Many thanks Steve, that seems to have fixed it - you really deserve that big salary they pay you :-D Actually, you did mean "Photoshop Elements Organizer..." not "Premiere Elements Organizer..." eh? I mean, it's not April 1st... ;)
