saving layers as separate files?

Postby spressman » Mon Oct 27, 2008 1:04 pm

Is there a way in Photoshop Elements 6 to save individual lawyers as separate PSD files? I thought I did this a while back, and now for the life of me can't remember how I did it!

thanks,
steve

The way I do it and it may be the long way :) ....I turn off all of the eyes except one layer and 'save as' copy and then repeat for each layer. If there is a faster way would like to know too.

Sometimes I will copy a layer and paste it into a new blank image, but Cheryl's way is probably the most common.
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

I do it that way too, but if you want to keep the exact location of the graphic then the save as option works best. That is how I brought in layers into PE3. Don't have to worry about that now since Pro will import layers as a sequence.

When I did the morphing, it was very important to have each pic lined up on top the previous and had to match up with the couples end picture. When exporting the layers as save as, ended up with each having all of the layers and a big file. Then went back and deleted the the layers with the eyes off. Time consuming.
