Thanks chuck...didn't know if I should ask this questino over on that thread or this one. I will probably order the "'y" discs. ( ) easier to type.

But how do I know which ones as far as speed 8x or 16x etc.

My DVD burner is:
Ligthscribe Doublel Layer 16x Max DVD +/-R/RW

Also, I will probably want the 8.5 gb.

I have some previous Memorex 2.4x 8.5 GB, but it seems I would prefer to go with the "y" discs.

8.5 gb discs are dual layer, only necessary if you have projects that will be over 75 minutes.

Go with the 8x discs, they are safer to use especially if you burn with Premiere Elements.
