setting default when importing photos to organizer

I have a strange question- only because PE6 is behaving differently in windows 7 than it did on XP. (boy do I miss XP): When importing files to the organizer from my computer, is there a way to set the default so that it searches for "All files" every time? It did this automatically on my old computer- but now it starts with "Media Files" and images vanish until I change the bottom to "All
files". I don't want to have to change it every time I import an image.

But wouldn't your images be among the files displayed when it's set to Media Files?

Why look at a bunch of other files you can't load into the Organizer?

Because it " jumps" around and I can't find the files I'm looking for- but if I manually set it to All files, then all is good and I can find anything I want. I know this is strange. NEVER happened with old computer.
