Window Backgrounds are black..need to change to grey

Postby Stacey » Thu Jun 21, 2012 2:08 am

Just started using version 10. Background of tools and work windows are black. I can't adjust color levels using black triangle because I can't see it. Whole thing is difficult to use. Cannot figure how to change to grey. Same disk was used to put on a different computer and it is fine! Tried every setting I could think of the change and no results. Any ideas?? See pic.

Unfortunately, in version 10, you can't change the background color of the interface.

The fact that it is different on two computers is strange, have you tried adjusting the monitor settings?
1. Thinkpad W530 Laptop, Core i7-3820QM Processor 8M Cache 3.70 GHz, 16 GB DDR3, NVIDIA Quadro K1000M 2GB Memory.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Sounds like your monitor settings need to be adjusted?

EDIT: And Chuck slides along the inside and wins by a nose! :)

I've reset the power plan to the delfaut and tried everything I can think of as far as monitor settings go. Obviously I'm missing something since it's all fine on another computer. Very frustrating! Thanks

Are you talking about the power settings under Power Management in your Windows display settings? That won't have any effect. Chuck and I are talking about adjustments on the monitor itself, such as brightness and contrast.

Thank you Dave and Chuck! Got it. Right- power management is what I meant and it didn''t work. Neither did brightness and I don't see any contrast controls on my laptop keyboard. Well my default (photographic) for color I thought was what it should be- but I needed to recalibrate the colors for the monitor under the display menu. I had never needed to do that before. Thanks again!
