George, which version of PSElemnts are you using? This does not seem to work the same in PSE 9. There is no double arrow, only a little menu triangle to change the size of the thumbnails.
A) i7-3930K 3.2GHz (3.8GHz Turbo), 32GB DDR3-1600, SSD 256GB, 2x1TB+2x2TB Seagate Barracuda (72krpm), Geforce GTX 550 Ti (1GB), Win10 Pro 64-bit
B) Sony Vaio i7-3632QM,12gb DDR3-1333MHz, GeForce® GT 640M LE (2GB), 750GB (7200rpm), Win10 Pro64-bit

PSE7.

Yes, neither 9 nor 10 appears to offer this option (I don't have 8 to try), and that is yet another among the many reasons that I continue to believe that the 7 bundle will one day become a collectors' item.

The first image depicts the Create Tab and Projects button selected. After clicking on the Artwork button to the right of the Projects button, the second image depicts, circled in red, the double-arrow to the right of the Artwork button.

I still use PRE7 most of the time. I had nothing but trouble with version 9. Although, I keep coming back to it, it has some nice features too. It looks like I get it at last to run very decently.

I uninstalled PSE7 on this computer, PSE9 worked great from the beginning and I like all the new features it offers.

Looks like I might have to reinstall PSE7 just to take advantage of your discovery. I use backgrounds quite often and it would be nice to have a better overview of what is available. :-k

Given Adobe's predilection for adding and removing features, I'm so glad they allow one to have multiple versions of Elements installed. I've currently got PS plus PSE7, 9 and 10 installed for the purpose of editing stills, and PRE7 for the final edit and sharing of my slide shows. (Neither PRE9 nor 10 run well on my particular machine).

No matter which editor I use for the stills, all eventualy end up in the PSE7 Organizer, as that is where I begin all my slide shows before "sending" them to PRE7.

I'm trying to remember where to find the PE7 backgrounds in the file structure. I'm using Photoshop Pro, but really like some of the backgrounds that were available in PE7.

Jayell, you can let Windows search for the location. Get the name of one of the background files in PSE7 (hoover your cursor over the thumbnail). Click on your C: drive, type the name of the file into the search bar of the explorer window and wait....
Once it finds the file, right click and select > open file location. Copy the path and save as a note pad for next time. :TU:
