Resize/Rename Multiple Files

Postby momoffduty » Wed Sep 19, 2007 9:51 am

I have a file of photos that I want to batch resize for PE3, but want to keep the originals the same size. When I resize the batch does it replace the originals or does it make copies automatically?

I had a batch of photos in the organizer that I wanted to rename. Since it was easier to see the name in the hard drive folder, I deleted the photos out of the organizer, renamed on the hard drive, then brought the file back into the organizer. Is there an easier way to do this?

What is the best way to bring in photos with the name that you want? Seems I am doing things backwards.

Here is a nice renaming utility that Cinde found, it's free.

In Photoshop Elements you can 'Process Multiple Files' and resize a batch of photos and rename them all at the same time.
Select the source folder and then create a destination folder for the new files, the originals will not be touched.
I just tested this on 100 photos and it worked fine, the originals are still in their location and the new resized images are in a new folder.

Thanks Chuck, just did a quick test and it works. The originals were untouched and had the same name.
