Opening scroll already in progress when video opens on TV

Postby Cinde » Sat Jun 23, 2007 1:42 am

Today I finished a video with an opening scroll. It looked good on the computer but when I put it into the TV DVD player the opening scroll of about 10 seconds was already 5 seconds into the scroll when it first opened on the TV screen.

I have my DVD player set to auto loop, and the video looked perfect in the second run through when it auto looped.

I don't use menus. Any suggestions to fix this problem?

Leave longer time before starting the scroll would be the simplest way...

Another thing you can do is change the Pre-Roll frames and the Ease-In.
Setting the Pre-Roll to 300 frames would give you a 10 second delay before the roll starts.

My guess is that the movie actually starts before the signal is sent to your TV on the first play, a menu would solve this problem. You would only need a Main Menu with a Play button and no chapters/scenes. You could then set the DVD player to 'Repeat'.

I think Paul has the best answer though, just add 10 seconds of something at the very beginning to delay the roll or move the rolling title 10 seconds further down the timeline.

2. Cybertron PC - Liquid Cooled AMD FX6300, 6 cores, 3.50ghz - 32GB DDR3 - MSI GeForce GTX 960 Gaming 4G, 4GB Video Ram, 1024 Cuda Cores.

Thanks Paul and Chuck for your quick solutions.

I think I'll go with Paul's suggestion for this video.

It's time for me to start learning menus. After I figure that one out I'll then need to learn to change the backgrounds of the menu to match the theme of the opening of the video itself.

I think I can... I think I can...
