Scuba DVD Menu

Postby Stregga » Wed Aug 29, 2007 11:15 pm

Steve,

This is my first shot at a custom DVD menu. I created it for a friend of mine who went on a couple of scuba dives that were video taped and he wanted them converted from VHS to DVD. I did it and created this DVD menu in PE3 (thanks to your tutorial...of course) and since it seems that your the guru on this sort of thing I was looking for your opinon on it. What could be better, what doesn't look right, etc.

I uploaded it in the gallery section, the file name is Scuba menu.

Thanks.

This is beautiful work, Marcos!

Is this your own photography? It's really gorgeous color and composition.

I'm just wondering if there's a way to add some shimmer to it. Maybe bringing the photo into Premiere Elements and putting a semi-opaque layer over it that looks like the sun sparkling through the water.

Not that there's anything wrong with it as is. It's great! But a little sparkle and some cool, aqueous music would really make this come to life!

Thanks for sharing it!

Thank you for your compliments Steve, they were truley unexpected

As far as the photo's, don't I wish!!! Got them off the net.

I am interested on your suggestion on applying the shimmer effect. Could you provide a little more detail? So you suggest creating a semi opaque layer, but how do I get the shimmer?

Thanks Steve.

That might take some creative thinking, Marcos.

Maybe animated some sparkling or sun rays coming through the water, putting it on the video track above the underwater scene, setting opacity to 25 or 40%.

Or maybe you could make copies of the photo and create different light effects on each copy using Photo Elements. Then layer then in Premiere Elements, play with opacity and transitions.

Hmm. If I had an afternoon with nothing else to do...

Gotcha Steve, I'll play with it and see what I can come up with. When I have something, I'll shoot it back to you for more comments.
