Video Contest is coming!

Postby Steve Grisetti » Fri Apr 20, 2007 3:12 pm

Okay, fellow videographers, it's time to polish your lenses and charge your batteries. Muvipix is about to kick off our first, official short video contest!

The contest is open to anybody. Rules and details will follow soon. We'll be giving away some nice merchandise and even a cash grand prize! (Or an Amazon gift certificate. We're still working out the details.)

Watch the forums for an announcement soon!

Relax, guys. Deadline won't be until the first weekend in June.

Chuck, Ron and I are still hashing together the rules, but you should see a formal announcement early this week.

Inside scoop is that we'll have an open category and a creativity challenge, with awards given by the Muvipix team and a "people's choice" award that we'll all have a chance to vote on.

Wh'appen?! Did I miss my chance??

Only joking - but it would be nice to get an update in this thread in case I did miss any news on the details...

Oh - and site seems speedier now from here in the south of the UK - fantastic! Well done.

Haven't forgotten you, or the contest, UK. Webmaster Ron is just getting all the bugs out of our server upgrade and then we'll get things rolling.

One contest, for instance, involves our providing you with a bunch of clips and challenging you to mash them up into the most creative short video!

Should see an announcement soon.

Hey Steve, thanks for coming back to me.

Constraints on my time may be a hindrance to entering but I love the idea of the mash-up!

I hope I'll be able to enter. If not, my 'consolation' will be to witness the fantastic entries across a range of abilities that these contests always attract and receive a good ol' healthy dose of inspiration to boot...

UKPal - with his masher at the ready!

I like the ideas of mashing it up too, considering my camera is out of commission.

Ron is planning to have the mash-up clips on the site by Sunday night. Once he does, we'll make an official "contest commences" announcement.

And sorry about the camcorder, Bob.

Slight delay in getting the contest mash-up clips out. I should have everything ready sometime tomorrow. Hang in there :)
