Re: Fun with BubblesRon that was really cool. Looked like a lava lamp running backwards. I like how the colors of the bubbles looked so bright. Nice job.

Re: Fun with BubblesThanks everyone! One of my kids has had that toy for years but it only occurred to me recently that it would look neat in a video.
I used manual focus/exposure/white balance. I had originally wanted to shoot the video at 4k 96fps but since I didn't know what I was doing, I ended up with 1080p 60fps (only had GH4 for a couple months ). Playing the video backwards at 40% original speed seemed to work well. I used three lights with the green fabric and almost all of the shots keyed beautifully. The Keyer in FCPX was as straightforward as you could hope for, just drag it onto the clip and you're done. Maxxing out the saturation helped the colors. No one noticed the ROY G BIV sequence in the "Caustics" background?? That was my wife's idea. The music...I had to listen to a lot of clips before I found something that "felt" right. Jamenco is a wonderful site!! I shot lots of angles and ended up with lots of footage (over 6min at 40% speed), but a one minute video length seemed right. This is the first video I've made that left me wanting more at the end of it, so that is a good thing. My son also has a cool "tornado" toy from the Discovery Channel store... Re: Fun with BubblesI'm impressed! Now I think we need a "making of" video to accompany.
I assume whatever it was it was reversed. Be yourself; everyone else is taken.

Re: Fun with BubblesThanks Dave! Yes, the video was played in reverse at 40% speed.

Re: Fun with BubblesMaybe the making of video could be your entry...a double entry ... the making of... and the finished project.

Re: Fun with BubblesGreat idea, Sidd.
Re: Fun with BubblesWow. That would have been a great idea. Maybe I can do a BTS video of my upcoming coffee epic?
