Hey, great performance even sleeping, hehehe!
I liked very much focusing and defocusing, the close-ups of the toys and the pace of the still pics according to the music.
And a year is nearly passed...

Best wishes !

Thanks Francesco! Sleeping is good to give grandma rest. :-D This was the first time I shot video in manual and had lots of missed focus shots. I learn from this on what to do and not to do. I did miss some shots entirely because a few times I thought I was turning the video on when in fact I was turning it off.

It's sooo nice to know I'm not alone on that score. :conf: And I have gotten some fascinating scenes of my shoes.

Been there, done that! My Canon shows a red dot when recording, and green double vertical bars (for pause) when not. Red means stop to me, so at first I thought that when I saw the red dot it was stopped.

Another great video Mom. At first I thought it was a movie of a tea party (there's another idea), but I like how it morphed into play time with Grandma. (If you do the tea party I suggest you setup multiple cameras so you can film both of you during your tea party. Your granddaughter will likely be grateful for footage of YOU in years to come.) The slider shots were really nice and I like how you mixed stills of varying distances and matched them to the tempo of the soundtrack.

Still got the feet thing going too, eh? :fg:

Did you add any lighting or just use room lighting and sunlight? I'm wondering because the colors seem very good and the lighting is perfect. Did you play with exposure/WB before filming? Did you touch up the color/WB in post?

Feet is becoming my video trademark. :fg: This was a cold day but very sunny. We have several large windows, 2 story, and in the winter the room fills with a lot of light for about 2 hours. This was the first time shooting video with the cam and I didn't change the WB. I did use the Portrait Picture style which gaves a rosy color. I only shoot in neutral now because I think the Portrait style is too pink for my tastes. The varying photo distance was done in post with scale keyframes. I did try to move a little left or right when shooting to give a variation, but it wasn't enough for the effect so I did the scale thing in post.

Thanks for the tea party idea!

Speaking of forgetting to turn the cam on or off, I once saw a video on Vimeo that someone edited for his parent of their European vacation. He put together a little 1 minute segment of his Dad's feet. Seems his Dad would forget to turn the cam off and there were all these feet videos of the different scenic places. :)

:pull: same here, it drives me nuts.

I also managed to turn the camera off and put it in the bag, only to find later I filmed the inside of the camera bag - 15min of black with conversation! :ha:

Chery I was watching the film again a few times this morning. I love the close up shoots and getting the shoot of the shadow. You are doing great work. It makes me think of stuff I need to look for when shooting.

Thanks Mike, I have been trying to be conscience of getting different angles and unique shots. Sometimes it is hard to remember camera settings, where is the light, the subject and top that off with thinking about shots. :ha: Oh, and turn the camera on.
