Time flies!!!Woweee...it's been 11 months today since I flew off to Alaska for vacation. Wish I could do it all over again.
Here are a few minutes from the flight to Anchorage...it may lull you to sleep - but i find the scenery so beautiful i sometimes have to remind myself to blink! See what you think...
Re: Time flies!!!Wow! Those snow-capped mountains make me hungry for lemon meringue pie!

Re: Time flies!!!Very surreal. The scope of those mountains is deceiving from those heights. I enjoyed picking out the glacier from a distance and then seeing it much closer up a minute later. Just incredible footage. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Time flies!!!Nice footage. Almost seems like it is from an alien moon orbiting Jupiter. My first thought is what it must to have felt like to have to travel in that kind of weather.

Re: Time flies!!!
Many years ago i flew over the Rocky Mountains and thought they looked like arthritic knuckles. Kinda' depressing to associate arthritis with my beloved mountains...pie is so much better! Or maybe Baked Alaska? haha http://www.foodnetwork.com/recipes/food ... ecipe.html
You're welcome Dave! I was amazed at how quickly the plane moved over the landscape. It was all so beautiful it was hard to decide where to point the camera!
Thanks Sidd! Fortunately, our weather was mostly great!
Re: Time flies!!!Very nice filming. How did you manage to hold the camera that steady?
I was on an Alaska cruise 10 years ago today. We started out from Vancouver and took the inside passage to Juneau, Skagway, along the Hubbard Glacier to Ketchikan and back to Vancouver. We had the whole family onboard, 20 people total. I guess, I should sit down and get all that video footage I have finally edited and make a 10 year anniversary edition. Thanks for showing your footage and thanks for giving me an idea. Re: Time flies!!!I agree, very surreal. Your video captured just how rugged the terrain is from the dense forests to the mountains everywhere. Thanks for sharing!

Re: Time flies!!!Beautiful scenery, thanks for sharing! I would love to visit Alaska, maybe someday I'll get there.
Seemed like a lot of the footage had a blue tint. I wonder if white balancing on the clouds would make the colors pop? Desktop: HPE-580T, i7-950 (3.07GHz), 16GB RAM, Win'7 64-bit Home Premium, PSE12/PRE12, Lightroom 5.

Re: Time flies!!!
Thanks Gerlinde...haven't had time to respond sooner - computer and car problems and planning and taking a trip! Whew! The steadiness came from using portions of a PVC stabilizer (there was a thread on this a couple of years ago). i brought several small sections with me and configured as needed for each situation. i was very pleased with how steady it turned out! i loved seeing families on the cruise - what a great way to spend time together! You should absolutely work on the old footage and maybe make plans for a new trip to Alaska! hmmmmm...muvipix meetup perhaps?
Glad you liked it. i was so glad the weather allowed a great view on our flight!
i highly recommend it...if you can go on short notice, princess offers some dramatically reduced fares in early spring.
thanks Chuck! how about you start the ball rolling on an Alaskan muvipix meetup?
Re: Time flies!!!Would love to do that, any forum members live in Alaska?
