That is correct, Agnes.

Adobe really has stripped the program down in its latest version.

Is it possible to bring the garbage matte's over from a previous version?

Is there a work around?

Since it's not a plug-in, I'm not sure that there is a way to bring the effect it from a previous version -- which really frustrates me as I'm sure it does you.

I'm not sure what Adobe's thoughts were in removing such a vital and powerful feature.

Thanks Steve.
I'm not sure what they were thinking eighter. It sure would be nice to find an alternative.

Steve,

What about a variation of this technique
The example is for premiere pro but we might be able modify the solution for elements.

This is a great solution, Griffin -- at least for key shots where you're just trying to remove some of the picture.

I don't think you can animate the shape of these pins, however, they way you could Garbage Mattes, which you'd need to do to create this effect. But I'll experiment and see what I can see.

Unfortunately I can't find any way to animate and change the shape of the masked image, as you could with the Garbage Mattes.

So it's a solution if everything is stationary. Great for removing the edges in a key effect. But not so good at creating animated effects that change shape over the course of the clip.

Bonjour,

Sorry for my bad English, I am french. If you can help me for my problem, I will be very grateful to you. I work on video 4k/16.9. On my samsung S20,I can easy do a zoom without change the hight (with the reader of Samsung only), and I want to do record the same thing in Adobe Première Elements. But actually I cannot do it. If I use "Move" or "pan & Zoom",autmaticaly, whenI I change the width, it change the hight even though I'm in 4k.

Thanks at lot for you help.

I'm probably not understanding your problem, Rebecc. I'm not clear which tool you're using to create your Pan & Zoom and what you are trying to accomplish.

Can you post a link to a YouTube video that shows what effect you are trying to create?
