preview frame stays black

I just started a project which was going fine until I rendered it. The preview screen stays black even while the video appear be play below. Audio is OK. Just to check what was going on, I started another project with no videos, just 4 or 5 pictures. Played just fine until I rendered it and now I'm stuck with the black preview panel again. I closed PE (which is my default way of fixing things), reloaded and still had the same problem. Any suggestions would be appreciated.

Update: I restarted my laptop several times, and now everything seems to be OK - although I have no reason to believe it will continue to be OK. For now though, I'm fine...thanks.

Sorry for your issues, Skip. But glad to hear that apparently they've resolved themselves.

Let us know if you're still having problems. And meantime go to the AMD or nVidia site and ensure you have the latest drivers and firmware for your graphics card. Outdated drivers are the main cause of this type of problem.
