Filename shown on display

Postby tedco » Fri Sep 15, 2023 9:29 pm

Hi,
I use Premiere Elements 2023 to edit and export video's.
When watching them on either computer or television, I noticed that the video's filename is displayed for a short period of time before disappearing.

Wondering if this is a "feature" or something I can somehow avoid?

I find it confusing when I have an introduction text screen before the video starts and the filename is shown on bottom of the screen.

Thank you

I've seen others complaining about this also. I expect it's a bug in the program that will be addressed in future versions, assuming there is a future version.

:conf:

Or do you mean if there is an update to that version?

If it is a really short duration, could you try to cut that short section out? Maybe the filename will just be inserted again I don't know.

I should have said, "Assuming there's a new version" -- which there likely will be. Didn't mean to sound so ominous.

Thanks for your replies,

It would be nice if it could be possible to turn off OSD when exporting.
I may try to use Da Vinci for exporting.

Thanks again for all your help,

Just out of curiosity what program are you using to playback the actual file on your TV once it is completed?

Sidd makes a good point. I may have misunderstood the issue.

Programs like VLC Media Player briefly display the name of the file when it plays. This can of course be turned off in the preferences.

But it's a feature of the media player. The filename is not on the actualy MP4.

I use VLC when viewing on my computer and have disabled the OSD from Tools > Interface and this works fine.

However, when viewing the video on my LG television, I get the filename on the bottom of the screen.
It shows up for a few seconds and then disappears.

I may be able to disable OSD on my tv as well but haven't had time to look into it.
Will report back when I have worked out if it is possible.

Thanks again.
